Every Actor Confirmed For Spiderman: Brand New Day (And the Role They Could Play In the Story)

Tom Holland: Playing a depressed, lonely Peter Parker going to college, playing possibly the most comic-accurate version we’ve ever gotten. His suit looks absolutely incredible, looking ripped straight from a comic book panel. This movie’s really going to show the serious, down-on-his-luck Peter we’ve always wanted to see.

Zendaya: Returning as MJ, most likely in a substantially smaller role now that she doesn’t remember who Peter is. Peter may possibly check on her to see how she’s doing, or she could appear in a flashback. As long as it doesn’t take away from No Way Home’s ending, I’ll be happy.

Jacob Batalon: Returning as Ned Leeds, hopefully in a small role as well like Zendaya. I could also see this movie setting the groundwork for his eventual turn towards evil, becoming the Hobgoblin and attempting to kill Spiderman now that he doesn’t remember who Peter is. I just hope his possible villain arc doesn’t take away from the already stuffed cast of rumored villains.

Sadie Sink: While this casting was announced a while back, I still have no idea who she could be playing. I’ve seen theories ranging anywhere from Mary Jane to a female version of Norman Osborn, but I honestly think she would fit perfectly into the story as Firestar. With Scorpion being confirmed and Tombstone, Boomerang, Tarantula, and Mr. Negative all being rumored villains (not to mention a potential return for Savage Hulk), Peter’s probably gonna need some backup.

Liza Colón-Zayas: This is another announcement where I simply have no idea who she could be playing. Some rumors say that she’s playing Rio Morales, the mother of Miles Morales, but with Kevin Feige confirming in a recent interview that there weren’t any immediate plans for Miles to be integrated into the MCU, that possibility seems unlikely. My best guess is that they’re either setting her up to introduce Miles in the future, or she’s simply playing an entirely unrelated character.

Jon Bernthal: That’s right, the Punisher is back! Frank’s rocking a brand new look (image below), and is once again gonna start mowing down the criminals plaguing NYC. This would probably bring him in conflict with Spiderman, who famously holds back his punches and refuses to kill. The dynamic between the two would be incredibly interesting, as these two characters with clashing ideals must work together to take down a common threat.

Mark Ruffalo: And what is that common threat, you ask? Well, I believe that with Mark Ruffalo being confirmed to appear, we are going to be seeing the return of the Savage Hulk after more than 7 years. The leading theory is that the rumored Mr. Negative is going to use his powers to bring out the Savage Hulk from within Bruce Banner once again, sending him on a rampage across New York City and forcing Spiderman and Punisher to put their differences aside and attempt to stop him. This could also be a point of contention between the two heroes, with Peter trying to talk Hulk down, while the Punisher is intent on killing him.

Michael Mando: After nearly a decade, Michael Mando is FINALLY coming back as the Scorpion, paying off Homecoming’s post-credits tease. While I don’t believe he’s going to be the main villain of the film, he’s probably going to have a relatively big role as the main physical threat to Spiderman, while a mastermind like Mr. Negative works from the shadows.

I’m really excited about the confirmed characters in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”! It’s fascinating to see how the story brings back classic figures while introducing new ones. The dynamics between Peter Parker and these characters promise to add depth and intrigue. I’m particularly looking forward to seeing how they reinterpret long-standing relationships and rivalries. What does everyone think about the potential for character development in this new arc? Any favorites you hope to see more of?
I’m really looking forward to seeing Peter becoming his own character and learn to slowly let go of his past. Honestly, I’m just really excited to see a street=level Spidey again
